Questions I Must Ask Myself

Is there a mountain standing in your way?

If we don’t climb our mountains we will never know the beauty and life beyond it, only the frustration from our present perspective.

What our heart truly desires is often found on the other side of struggle, so today I will wrestle like Jacob did (Gen. 32:22-32) because I believe God when He tells me He has plans to prosper me and not to harm me. Tomorrow I may wake-up with a limp but the blessing will be mine.

I must continually ask myself…

What is it that you are refusing to fight for?  What is it in God’s word that you do not believe?

– The possibility of having good and perfect gifts?  James 1:17

– That I’m worth it to God? Jeremiah 31:3-4

– That God can and will do for me what He has done for others? Daniel 3:17

– That God has the ability to fulfill the desires of my heart? Psalm 37:4

– That God loves me? John 14:21

– All of the above? Jeremiah 29:11-14

What is your looming mountain? Is it more difficult than God’s ability to raise Jesus from the dead?

Is God trust worthy?  Yes!  Then start climbing!  Remember what God has done so you can know what He will do.

Is fear your mountain?  Take courage and press through because that spirit has already been defeated. 2 Timothy 1:7

If God asked you to leap off your mountain, to run head first into fire, or to sleep with the lions, would you trust Him to keep His word?  “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”  – Jeremiah 29:11

Sometimes I just have to talk to myself out loud…  Take it for what it’s worth 😉

2011, Keeping It Real!

Benaiah did not sleep with the lions, but he did chase one into a pit on a snowy day and killed it.  He did not wait for the lion to come to him.  He chased it!

Is God trust worthy? yes he is, because I put hm first before anything else, take time out and pray before before I go anywhere , My wife Loraine does the same thing.

Everything well go a lot better the rest of the day when I pray first first.

I’m ready to climb that mountain because I trust God that much, praise the Lord.

Thats a wonderful article what you wrote today Shannan, praise the Lord, god bless you, I just prayed for you Shannan, we love you too.

    Love,

    Clinton & Loraine

Shannan, you and your posts have been and I’m sure will continue to be an inspiration. You may know of some of my dilemma since you know my father Gary. Thank you for posting this as this week He has been trying to show me the way. Every day is a new challenge sometimes but they are getting easier to face since I no longer have my back to God. Faith and Trust have been the continual messages I have been receiving this week every where I look. “There is wisdom in many counselors” & I believe you are one of those counselors this week and thank you.

Randy, Thank you so much for your kind words and for being so transparent with your testimony. I know very little of your story, only these last few months have been a struggle. I pray God will continue to set your heart free and show you how strong and pure His love is for you. One thing I have to remind myself of often is that feelings of hope usually do not take the lead, they most often follow after faith and trust. Hang in there Randy. God is faith and He is good, even when others fail us.

Thats so true and it gets easier with time with God as your source of strength. It also gets easier for people when they choose a direction in life. Otherwise its like getting in your car in Tennessee and deciding to drive to Alabama, then Georgia, then Kentucky and halway to Kentucky you realize that you have gotten nowhere and wasted alot of gas. I have found joy in life by choosing a direction and setting goals….and since I am in the pursuit of my goals.. (in order not grow weary in doing good)…I celebrate my milestones along the way. I also keep an idea of what my next goal will be…so when i obtain my current goal…i celebrate..maybe rest a bit…then pursue my next goal…so life is never boring. 🙂
