What Goes In Will Soon Come Out!

I remember a science experiment my class did with a stalk of celery, water, and red food-coloring.  We put several drops of red dye into a glass of water and then stood the celery upright in the painted water overnight.  When we came back to the classroom the next day, the veins of the celery were red.  Two days later the rest of the stalk was starting to turn a faint pink color.  The celery began to reflect what pool it was drinking from.

What Goes In Will Soon Come Out!

Drinking from The Color Pull - Celery

Our lives are a lot like a stalk of celery.  Whatever water we drink from, whatever we surround ourselves with, we will eventually absorb and begin to exude its hue.

“But blessed is the one who trusts in Me alone; the Eternal will be his confidence. He is like a tree planted by water, sending out its roots beside the stream. It does not fear the heat or even drought. Its leaves stay green and its fruit is dependable, no matter what it faces.” – Jer. 17:7-8, (The Voice)

The things we watch.  The company we keep.  The thoughts we meditate on.  Wherever we are sending out our roots is where we are abiding, and where we abide will determine what we reflect.

What pool are you drinking from?  What entertains your mind and heart today?  What are you allowing your life to absorb?  Choose wisely because it establishes the fruit you will bear.  It will dictate your hue and regulate whether or not you will survive the storms.
