Precious was the moment when God sang ‘The Itsy Bitsy Spider’ through Grace. How wonderfully privileged I am to be chosen to sing along.
Today the walls were pressing in on me, so I took my book and headed to Starbucks. With a beautiful blue sky overhead and a light breeze blowing, it was a perfect night to sit outside. I opened my book and whispered a prayer for God to lift the weights that were pressing on my mind and heart.
God so sweetly flooded my world with color through a 2 1/2-year-old vessel, Beautiful Grace. She’s a sweet little girl who can only speak Chinese – I cannot – but Grace told me the most amazing stories while she smiled and danced before me. Then suddenly our languages sounded as one when I notice her hands begin to make a spider crawl up a water spout. Grace’s smile became contagious and we giggled as we sang together with hands in motion, ‘The Itsy Bitsy Spider’. The world wasn’t so heavy anymore.
